CULTURAL TIDBIT:
Hospitality is paramount in Middle Eastern culture, and every business meeting will be prefaced with an offering of coffee, tea, and possibly dates, followed by a discussion of family and personal greetings. Personal relationships are paramount in establishing trust and building long-term relationships. Also, eating an odd number of dates is considered more rewarding and is a deeply rooted tradition based on a belief that it was favored by the Prophet Mohammed.
